Large Black Hogs are known as a 'Heritage' breed; their ancestors can be traced back to the 16th and 17th century English countryside. They adapt well to pastures and forested areas, efficiently converting the grass, roots, nuts, etc. into nutritious, delicious, micro-marbled meat that only a Large Black Hog can provide.
Bowers Farm's Large Black Hogs are registered/certified with the Large Black Hog Association. We raise breeder pairs and feeder hogs from the Majestic, Prudence, Noble Sam and Warbler lines. Meat from these heritage hogs is available by the cut onsite at the Farm or the Farmer's Markets listed on the Home page.
